Text, Data & Code tool

VCF to CSV & Excel Converter

Extract names, phone numbers, emails and addresses from a vCard contact backup. Review included contacts, choose columns and download CSV or Excel without uploading your contacts.

Turn your contacts into a spreadsheet

Open one .vcf backup containing multiple contacts. Review what was found before downloading.

Contacts stay in this tab only. No uploads, saved drafts, external contact lookups or branding added to your data. Photos, attachments and unsupported properties are omitted and reported. Keep your original backup.

Processed privately in your browser — your entries are not uploaded.

Good to know

How this tool works

Choose one UTF-8 vCard 3.0 or 4.0 backup. The tool extracts supported contact fields, reports omitted properties and skipped contacts, then lets you select spreadsheet columns. Excel files use explicit text cells; CSV exports protect formula-like values. Your original backup stays unchanged.

Frequently asked questions

What is VCF to CSV & Excel Converter useful for?

Turn a contact backup into a CSV or Excel spreadsheet privately. Validate a small sample before processing important data, and keep a copy of the original input.

Is my information stored?

Your text is processed locally in a browser worker. It is not uploaded by this tool or saved in browser storage. Clear releases the working input and result. Downloads remain in your normal download folder.

Which backups are supported?

UTF-8 vCard 3.0 and 4.0, up to 10 MB and 10,000 contacts. Version 2.1 and unsupported field encodings are reported as skipped contacts. Re-export those contacts as UTF-8 vCard 3.0 or 4.0. This is not a complete vCard round-trip or a replacement for your original backup.

Will phone numbers keep their leading zeros?

Excel downloads store every value as text, preserving leading zeros and international prefixes. CSV does not specify cell types: use your spreadsheet import settings to treat columns as text. Formula protection adds an apostrophe before risky CSV values, including phone numbers starting with a plus.

Are photos, duplicates and extra fields included?

Photos and unsupported properties are omitted and reported. Duplicate contacts are kept, not merged. Repeated phone numbers, emails and addresses receive numbered columns. Names and organisations with repeated values share a cell with line breaks. Review warnings before exporting.
