Choosing the document

Quote or estimate?

Use a quote for a defined offer

A quote suits work where the scope, quantities and price are sufficiently clear. State exactly what is included, how long the offer remains valid and any conditions that could change the price.

Use an estimate for an approximate cost

An estimate is more suitable when the final cost depends on information that is not yet known. Explain the assumptions, possible variations and when a firmer price can be provided.

Clear scope prevents surprises.Describe exclusions, deposits, payment stages, delivery times and the method of acceptance where they matter. Contract and tax requirements vary, so check important documents for your circumstances.

Converting it into an invoice

The preview can transfer the parties, logo, currency, tax rates, reference and line items into the Invoice Creator. The invoice number is deliberately left blank for your invoicing sequence. Any quote discount is recorded in the notes so you can apply the final agreed price correctly.

What should the terms explain?

Include the scope, assumptions, exclusions, validity period, deposit or payment stages, expected timescale and how the customer should accept where those details matter.

Does this create a legally binding contract?

The tool only formats what you enter. Whether an accepted document forms a contract depends on its wording, the transaction and the applicable law. Obtain advice for significant agreements.
