How this tool works

Choose a browser-playable video, adjust the START and END handles or enter times, and preview your selection. Prepare the local engine, choose precise re-encoding or inward keyframe snapping, then create and check the downloaded MP4. Engine downloads require an internet connection; your video is not uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What is Video Cutter useful for?

Trim a video locally with precise or keyframe cuts. Preview the complete result with sound before sharing it and keep the source recording unchanged.

Is my information stored?

This tool works in your browser. The information you enter is not sent to us or saved in an account by this tool.

Is this lossless and frame-accurate?

Not both at once. Fast mode copies encoded video and audio but snaps the range inwards to keyframes. Precise mode re-encodes the selected clip and cuts on available source frames, not between them. Millisecond entries do not create new source frames. Variable-rate stepping is approximate.

Why limit file sizes?

This version supports files up to 150 MB, ten minutes and 1080p. Precise exports are limited to two minutes. The input is read in chunks in a worker, but the engine and output still need memory. Phones may need smaller clips. Cancel stops the worker; Prepare starts it again.

What is kept in the download?

The first video and first audio track only. Subtitles, chapters and extra tracks are omitted. Metadata is not intentionally copied, but this is not a privacy scrubber. HDR and protected files are not supported. Review the downloaded start, end and audio before sharing.
